Amber Eck is a partner at Haeggquist & Eck, and an experienced lawyer who has been litigating all aspects of complex individual and class actions for the past 20 years, with an emphasis on securities and derivative litigation, consumer fraud, and employment law. She is currently serving as class counsel in consumer fraud class actions against Donald Trump and Trump University.
Before joining Haeggquist & Eck, Ms. Eck was a partner/attorney at the nation’s largest plaintiff’s class action firm, Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd (formerly “Coughlin Geller”) for 12 years, where she litigated numerous shareholder and derivative class actions which resulted in substantial recoveries for investors, and extensive corporate governance changes. Amber Eck also clerked for the U.S. District Court, Southern District of California. Before law school, Ms. Eck was a writer and photographer for the Los Angeles legal newspaper, the Metropolitan News-Enterprise.
Ms. Eck has written articles for publication, including “Lessons Learned from Mentors of the Past,” which was published in the national American Inn of Court magazine, The Bencher, in January, 2011. She has also lectured to law school students and attorneys, including a Lawyers Club symposium regarding Small Law Firms and Sole Practitioners, and Lawyers Club panel on Time Management for Attorneys. Ms. Eck served as a Barrister in the William B. Enright American Inn of Court, and a Barrister in the Louis M. Welsh American Inn of Court in 2010-2011. She is also a member of the Lawyers Club, San Diego County Bar Association and Federal Bar Association, and formerly served on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Barristers Club. Ms. Eck is admitted to practice in California and Nevada.
Ms. Eck is a Lifetime Member of Girl Scouts of America, and has served as a Girl Scout troop leader for the past six years. Ms. Eck has also served as the GATE District Advisory Council Representative for Loma Portal Elementary School, volunteer for Genesis Diez (which provides service to orphans and indigenous poor children in Baja, Mexico), and as a Deacon for Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church. Amber Eck is also active in Christian Youth Theater (“CYT”) and has served on the public relations and historian committees.
