I am the sole practitioner of the law firm Lewis S. Fleishmann, PLLC and am of counsel to the Brewster Law Firm. For the past thirty years I have concentrated on Maritime Law, including the Defense Base Act, the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, and the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. Prior to commencing practice in Texas, I was employed as an Assistant Attorney General by the State of New Mexico. I prosecuted cases under the Uniform Licensing Act. Additionally, I has extensive criminal appellate and state post-conviction expereience. I graduated from Rutgers School of Law, Camden. I conducted my undergraduate work at the University of California, Los Angeles, where I graduated cum laude. I am admitted to practice law in Texas, New Mexico (inactive), California (inactive), the Navajo Nation (inactive), and numerous federal courts.

When not concentrating on my law practice, I spend time lecturing on various aspects of maritime law and am an active participant in the Annual Longshore Conference in New Orleans. I am also a member of WILG, the Workers Injury Law & Advocacy Group.
