My legal experience began right after high school when I was hired as a legal secretary for a firm in Orlando, one of the biggest law firms in the state of Florida. For the next 25 years I worked as a legal assistant, and then paralegal, all while raising my 2 children. I always knew I wanted to practice law, and my opportunity came on the heels of an unexpected change in my life. It was then that I put myself through law school. Having lived and survived my own divorce, I committed to myself that I would one day not only competently practice law, but would respectfully assist and instill confidence and security in each and every one of my clients. I believed that reaching out and making a positive difference in the lives of others would in turn make a positive difference in my life. I followed my heart, and received my undergrad from the University of Central Florida, and my J.D. from Barry College School of Law. I practice with the firm of Thompson, Evangelo & Kelly in Altamonte Springs. I focus my practice on family law, wills, estate and legacy planning. I decided to practice family law after living through and surviving my own divorce. I have experienced first-hand financial uncertainty and the possibility of facing the future alone. My family law clients are individuals just like me, and I provide them with the legal counsel they need at what is probably the most emotional time of their life. I assist these clients in making rational and logical decisions and, if necessary, will argue before the Court to make sure they receive everything they are legally entitled to under Florida law. My goal is that each and everyone of my clients survive the divorce experience realizing that their life is not over, but yet to achieve.

My estate clients are individuals wanting to maintain control of their life for as long as they can. I assist these clients in taking the necessary steps to control their assets while they are able, choose who will assist in their care when they are unable, and ensure that they will give what they want to who they want. Together we prepare an estate plan that will not only protect assets, but provide confidence and a sense of satisfaction in my clients knowing they have taken the steps necessary to protect the financial well-being of not only themselves, but their loved ones as well. This is true even for those clients opting for a will as opposed to an estate plan.

Age is no factor in planning for the future, and preparing for the future is one of life’s necessities. Whether family law or estate planning, together we will create a legal plan specific to you and your exact needs. My experience and expertise, coupled with my compassion, form the cornerstone on which you will be able to trust that you have done what is necessary to prepare for the future. And then, you will be able to enjoy each and every day, knowing that you have a plan in place that protects not only you, but also the ones you love. My husband (Joe) and I are active members of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Winter Springs. We are also both members of the Rotary Club of Lake Mary, a civic organization focused on encouraging and fostering the ideal of service. I am also on the Board of Directors, and President for Safehouse of Seminole, a program providing shelter for women and children caught in the midst of domestic violence. Together, Joe and I focus our lives on service to others, trusting that our efforts bring some semblance of peace.
