Daniel Rentfro Jr. has almost thirty years of experience representing individuals, businesses, and public entities in a broad array of civil matters, including real estate and construction disputes (including condemnation proceedings), insurance claims, and employer-employee relations, both in state and federal court. In addition, he serves as general or special counsel to a number of public entities in the Lower Rio Grande Valley.

Mr. Rentfro began his professional career as a briefing attorney for Justice Franklin Spears of the Texas Supreme Court. In 1984, he returned to the Rio Grande Valley to join the Rentfro firm. Mr. Rentfro has been very active in professional organizations, serving as Chairman of the State Bar of Texas Commercial and Consumer Law Section, Vice-Chairman of the State Bar of Texas Pattern Jury Charge Subcommittee on Business, Consumer, and Employment Law, and Chairman of the Cameron County Bar Association. He has been a frequent lecturer at State Bar of Texas continuing education seminars in the areas of commercial and consumer law, and has written articles for the Texas Lawyer.

Mr. Rentfro is a native of the Rio Grande Valley. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with high honors (special honors in English) from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977, and a Master of Arts in English from Northwestern University in 1979. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 1983. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Order of the Coif.

Mr. Rentfro has been accepted as a postgraduate student at the University of St. Andrews (Scotland), where he will begin part-time study towards a Master of Letters degree in September 2013.
